A new Perimeter Emerges - Your Apps, signed, sealed and delivered

Enterprises depend on applications to streamline their business and increase productivity. And for many businesses, applications form the core of their services and product offerings. One thing is certain, in order to drive profits and productivity, applications have to perform – and, as direct customer experience has shown, performance is directly attributable to proper execution and synergy across three essential deployment axis: delivery, security and access.

Security: A New Perimeter for Business-Critical Resources

Universal Access Control With the explosion in mobility and increasing threats from within, traditional firewalls serve only as a first line of defense. A new security perimeter must be drawn around critical resources, one that holds all users to the same standard, whether internal, external, employee or third-party. SPX Series Universal Access Controllers are at the heart of Array’s secure application delivery architecture, providing the unified enforcement point that either separates or connects users and applications.

Certificate Authority Array NetCert Certificate Authority provides full life cycle management of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) digital certificates that reduce the cost of providing secure, transparent access for employees, vendors, and customers.   Array NetCert Certificate Authority System is a proven solution for issuing, distributing, suspending and revoking digital certificates complete control of user access to applications

Access: Driving End-User Productivity Anytime, Anywhere

Remote Access VPN Traditional VPNs – managed devices with pre-installed VPN clients – don’t cut it in today’s increasingly mobile world. Workers need to be able to securely access productivity-enhancing resources from any browser enabled device, managed or unmanaged. With Array AccessDirect SSL VPN, mobile and off-site users need only a common Web browser to quickly and securely access email, files, Intranets and applications. SSL VPN requires no pre-installed clients or changes to the network and fully eliminates firewall, NAT traversal and compatibility issues associated with legacy VPNs.

Site-to-Site VPN Collaboration between enterprises and third parties such (as) partners, vendors and suppliers is on the rise – and legacy VPNs designed for branch connectivity are struggling to keep up. Organizations are asking whether they want to deliver the network or the application to the remote site; in many instances, the answer is the application. Array SiteDirect site-to-site SSL VPN provides network-level connectivity common to branch office deployments, but goes beyond to publish specific applications to remote sites on a white-list basis – limiting network exposure for third-party access scenarios.

Network Admission Control Too often, IT professionals assume that campus users are implicitly trustworthy and that external threats are fully mitigated by the perimeter firewall; unfortunately, these assumptions don’t hold true. With the explosion in wireless networks and security breaches stemming from within, secure internal access is as important as secure remote access.

Array NetProtect and WiFiProtect utilize captive portals, integrated DHCP and DNS servers and substitute Windows logins to ensure all fixed and wireless campus users are funneled through Universal Access Controllers and screened at the new perimeter. In conjunction with AccessDirect and SiteDirect, Array network admission control solutions ensure users are subject to consistent security standards and access policies regardless of how or where they log in.

Delivery: Maximize Performance & ROI for All Applications

Web Applications Today’s Web applications place extreme demands on both servers and available bandwidth – directly impacting the end-user experience and IT budget; what’s more, security considerations for Web applications far exceed those of traditional client-server deployments. Array TMX Series Load Balancers and APV Series Application Delivery Controllers address these unique requirements, accelerating both server infrastructure and application performance while providing enhanced security and availability. Local and global load balancing, content switching, SSL acceleration, caching, TCP connection pooling, compression and an integrated firewall ensure applications and servers run in their power band with the security and availability required to support business critical processes.

Windows Desktops To date, enterprises have had little choice but to rely on managed services for providing remote access to office desktops. The downside to these services, is perpetual fees, connections into and out of the enterprise network beyond IT’s control, and the need for using valuable resources to keep any eye on, yet another slice of disparate access infrastructure. Array DesktopDirect is the world’s first appliance-based remote desktop access solution – trading perpetual fees for perpetual licenses and bringing desktop access under enterprise control on a unified platform at the core of Array’s end-to-end secure application delivery architecture.
